Course content
1st block The definition of geography as a discipline and its social structure in Czech society. Teaching geography at the elementary,middle and high schools. Czech University of geography? departments and institutes, leading geographers. Workplaces in which active professional geographers, compared with other countries. Czech Geographical Society, Czech scientific geographicalperiodicals. Significant foreign geographic school geography in neighboring countries. University study of geography, the differences study at middle and high school lectures, seminars, exercises, practices, terrain. Geographic Literacy University student: reading, writing, graphics, computer technology. Research Library in Liberec, their regime, the study in libraries, the importance of foreign language study for foreign literature. Geography in the media, Internet and geography cartography, geographic information systems. Writing papers, preparing presentations, form of citation, plagiarism as unethical behavior. 2nd block Country Landscape sphere as an open system. Exoterestrické elements and phenomena surrounding landscape sphere. Terrestrial features and phenomena sphere surrounding landscape. The complexity of the landscape surrounding the sphere in interaction with the complex landscape of the Earth sphere. Consequences interaction elements and phenomena surrounding landscape with elements of community events and community landscape of the Earth (differentiation heat flux orientation in space and time, the consequences of the events in the physical geographical sphere and folders in folders anthroposphere, the context described interactions with global problems and the search for sustainability of life. 3rd block Geographical Research Methods and the main applications of geography.
